About hash generator
Hash generator computes MD5, CRC32, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 digests from text or a file, entirely inside your browser using the Web Crypto API and a couple of pure-JavaScript algorithms for the formats browsers don't ship natively.
Beyond a plain digest, it supports HMAC signing, PBKDF2 key derivation, salting, per-line batch hashing and hashing every algorithm at once for side-by-side comparison — useful for verifying downloads, checking password hashing schemes, or debugging checksums.
Because hashing runs locally, nothing you paste or upload — including file contents or a secret HMAC key — ever leaves your device.
How to use Hash generator
- 1Choose text or file input, and pick an algorithm.
- 2Optionally enable HMAC or PBKDF2 mode and provide a key or salt.
- 3Paste an expected hash to check for a match automatically.
- 4Copy the digest or download it as a text file.
What it does
- MD5, CRC32, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512
- HMAC signing and PBKDF2 key derivation
- Salting with prefix or suffix placement
- Hex, Base64, Base64URL, byte-array and decimal output
- Compare all algorithms at once side-by-side
- Line-by-line batch hashing for word lists
- Streamed file hashing with a progress bar
- Built-in expected-hash comparison
