Why run developer tools in the browser?
Most online tools work by uploading your file to a server, processing it there and handing back a download link. That means a copy of your document exists on someone else's machine, at least for a while.
Every tool in this category avoids that entirely. The processing code is downloaded to your browser and your file is read locally, so the work is faster, private by default, and keeps working even when your connection drops.
